Cabernet is one of the world’s most widely recognized grapes and most widely grown. I can grow in diverse regions such as British Columbia to the Bekkaa Valley, Lebanon. Due to it’s prominence in Bordeaux, it is also considered among the finest wines in the world when grown to it’s potential.
Typically Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied, with high tannins and high acid. This lends itself for long aging potential. Flavors can range from black currant, mint, cedar and bell pepper when grown in cooler climates to black cherry and black olives in warmer climates.
